Summer 2011- Part 1

I am definitely waaaaay behind. Sooo I think I'll just do a couple of long posts to get caught up and then jump back in. Here are the high points of the summer.

Michael's 34th Birthday was in May. He took a cue from me and my annual Birthday gift to myself and planned a Birthday trip for himself. We loaded up and headed to Ada to pick up Mike and Linda and then went to Dallas for a Texas Rangers game and a trip to the water park. It was a great time! He may decide to make this a yearly trip!!

Summer 2011-Part 2

Once again the kids had lessons at Swim Ranch. Trey was in lane 1 again and Anna was in Lane 3. Trey started out apprehensive, but was a swimmer by the end of the week. Anna was a little fish as usual. Both kiddos will be movin on to the next lane next summer!!!

Anna Claire is so excited about having a sister. That's right a sister. If you didn't already know we are adopting a little girl from China. We will be naming her Grace Elizabeth and will call her Gracie. This summer Anna got busy and decided to have an art show to raise money to bring her baby sister home. She worked very hard creating art for a few weeks. We then invited friends and family. So proud of my big girl. She is so thoughtful and caring. Anna will be a wonderful example to her little sis!

In June we went on our annual beach trip to Florida with Brad, Jessie and Mary Ella. Hannah went with us this summer, too. We liked Seagrove so much last year we decided to go back!

In August we went on our annual Marvin Family Vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. We had a blast with all of the cousins together. We spent lots of time at the water park as well as becoming Magi (thanks to Aunt Jenn and Uncle Michael). So anyway the following picture was taken as soon as we checked in and then my camera died. poo.

The last major event of the summer was Mary Ella's 2nd Birthday!!! Once again since the whole family lives here except Brad and Jessica, they brought the party here. Mary Ella had a Minnie Mouse Party at the pool house. She is getting to be such a big girl! We Love You!!

Graduations!!!!!!

In May we had two very important graduations. Trey graduated from Mt. Comfort Sonshine School. This was his second year and Anna Claire went here too before kindergarten. We LOVE this school!!! You can definitely feel that the teachers really care for the kids here and enjoy the job they are doing. It will be sad not having a kid here next year, but it's time for Trey to join his big sis in elementary school.

LADS TO LEADERS/ LEADERETTES

In April we traveled to Memphis with members of our church to attend the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes Convention for the first time. This is a huge convention that takes place in several locations around the country on the same weekend in April every year. Children from 4-18 participate in a variety of events from song leading to public speaking. There are also a number of categories that they work on all year from home that they are rewarded for on this weekend including Good Samaritian, Memorizing Scriptures, Memorizing the Books of the Bible, etc. We are excited about becoming involved in this program at our congregation!!!!! Trey was too young to participate much at the actual convention this year. He was rewarded for what he worked on throughout the year. Anna was able to participate in scripture reading and song leading. She and the other little girls did a great job!!!

Gigi and Papa came with us to Memphis and Jessica, Brad and Mary Ella were there too!! Mary Ella made a very important announcement while we were there......

Yes, I am going to be an aunt again. Brad and Jessica are expecting another little bundle of joy in November!!! Can't wait to find out what we will be having! The hotel we stayed at was in a great location and we got out and about a bit. One night we ate at a restaurant called the Majestic. It was a beautiful night, so we sat out on the patio. Here are some pics.
