We hurried out to the Jingxi Civil Bureau office where they took your picture, our picture, and interviewed us. They asked simple questions like, "Why do you want to adopt this child?" "Are you satisfied with this child?" "Do you promise never to abuse or abandon her?" "What are your plans for her education?" Pretty quick and painless. They then moved us to a large room where lots of other children and families were waiting. You showed us your true colors in this room! You were all over the place, walking up to people and smiling at them. Mae was there from your orphanage and you were happy to see her! I was happy that you easily came back to me after she held you. She told us more about you (you like to play outside and like being around other children). We signed so many papers that daddy said it felt like we were buying a house, gave gifts and then headed out.
Once back at the hotel we attempted to put you down for a nap (Ha)! We were relieved when Helen called to see if we would like to go to the supermarket and McDonalds before our next appointment. We went and you slept in your stroller for over 2 hours!
After unloading from the supermarket we got in a car (always risky in this city) and went to our afternoon appointments. First to the notary (he asked the same questions from above) and then to the police station where they took your picture for your passport. Whew!
